Quick Look At The Results

Infographic marketing results

Reference Infographic

Topic: (Adult) Men’s Health
The infographic: http://visual.ly/semen-most-impressive-part-your-body
Service Applied: Basic Infographic Syndication
Service Rate: $24

The plus points considered

  • The topic of the infographic was socially viral which would interest the most active age group in the social media sites.
  • Facts and statistics in the infographic were presented with a humor touch making it the best social media content.
  • We already had authority profiles and accounts in all the popular infographic syndication sites, hosted guest blogs, document sites etc.

The hurdles

  • It was an adult topic that deals with Men’s health and hence not suitable for all eye balls.
  • The common misconception that backlinks from the infographics never gets indexed.
  • The possibility of the infographic getting rejected in the top sites such as visual.ly because of the nature of the topic.

Pre-promotion stats

Before the infographic promotion was done, it was published only at the client’s website and shared within their social media channels. The infographic performed very poorly with only 2 digit unique views and nil social media engagement.

Goals and expected results

Though infographics are considered to be inclined more towards branding, the strategy comes loaded with a complete bundle of results. Hence the expected results were:

  • Number of views for the infographic. This directly relates to branding as the infographic carried the client’s logo as well as the website url.
  • Social media engagement in terms of tweets, facebook likes, pins etc
  • Top quality social media backlinks to the target website from the published spots
  • Natural syndication of the infographic in thirdparty sites leading to natural growth of backlinks
  • Overall general search engine visibility
  • Search engine index status for all the published links which adds to the search engine visibility

The data used

  • The infographic images provided by the client was used as it is, without any modifications
  • One unique title and description was written based on the infographic topic and the same was used with all the infographic sites
  • Existing highly reputed profiles were used for the publication

The process

The infographic was syndicated to all the 30 spots in a single shot. Almost 70% of the sites used provided instant approval and the top sites such as visual.ly had a review process before the infographic went live.

The output

  • All 20 sites published the infographic and we were able to get live infographic links.
  • All the 20 published infographics are indexed in Google.
  • The infographic is syndicated naturally by other third party sites too.

Branding

The view count of the infographic from only the 20 syndicated sites accounted to 2500+ just within the first 5 days after publishing it. Not to mentioned the massive number of views from the 110 Facebook shares and 45 tweets. Based on calculation of unaccounted views from all sources, the view count has hit 10,000+ views in 20 days. Each view of the infographic accounts to the brand visibility. Hence, the infographic which was not presented to the right audience has received viral BRANDING after the promotion.

Backlinks

All 20 infographic sites provided top quality backlinks to the target website. In addition to these 20 links, the social media shares accounted to top quality social media backlinks too. After adding the backlinks from the naturally syndicated sites and taking the above 2 into consideration, the infographic has got more than 100 natural and diversified backlinks to the target website.

After publishing the infographic to the top 20 infographic syndication sites, there was viral social media engagement in all the popular social media sites such as Facebook, twitter and pinterest. Facebook topped the list with 100+ FB shares in just 15 days

Recommendations for creating viral infographics

The success of infographic marketing campaigns depends on the topic of the infographic and the way it is presented. Hence, the following are recommended for infographic design:

  • Choose the topic based on your industry trends. Never choose a random topic and fill the infographic with common statistics. Make use of tools such as Google trends to find the trending topics.
  • It is not true that complicated infographic designs are the only ones that go viral. You can even create very simple infographic within 30 minutes but it would still go viral if the message is properly conveyed
  • Always try to add a humor touch to the infographic wherever possible.
  • The title of the infographic MUST contain the keyword. If possible, starting the title with the keyword would be the best option. This highly impacts the search engine visibility of the infographic in the search engines.
  • Make sure that the text in the infographic reads well even if the width is reduced. The minimum width should be around 600px

Conclusion

Overall, infographic promotion has been a great success with results coming in the form of different dimensions such as branding, social media engagement, search engine visibility and top online exposure. Unlike the banner advertisements where a monthly fee or cost per click is paid, these infographics would remain permanently published, performing a lot better than banner ad campaigns. In a long run, the initial investment for the infographic design and marketing would be completely covered and you would reap free benefits from it for a lifetime. Hence infographic marketing can be concluded as an indispensable and effective digital marketing option for any business.

In 2012, directory submission has flourished after the impact of penguin update and the series of panda updates. In fact we mentioned the effectiveness of directory submission throughout 2012 in our news posts. However, everyone has started to wonder about its success rate in 2013. Will directory submission satisfy the stringent requirements of search engines to rank your website? In this case study, we will be analyzing a few recent results and hence we can determine the importance of the conventional directory submission strategy during 2013. This case study is based on our Essential Directory Submission Service

Overview & purpose:

Directory submission plays a crucial role in generating quality backlinks and improving the visibility of websites. Unlike other SEO services, directory submission is not a costly SEO service and is highly affordable for everyone. It is simple strategy yet it offers long-term results. That’s why it created a huge sensation among the SEO professionals during 2012.

As directory submission withstood the violent attacks of Google’s penguin update when most of the SEO services suffered, everyone is eager to explore the future scope of this service especially its impact in 2013. If directory submission gets a huge ovation from search engines, it will definitely play a major role in the SEO industry which is fluctuating often. The purpose of this case study is to identify if directory submission still works in 2013 after all these algorithm updates.

The directory submission process
Our main aim was to get the websites listed in the top web directories that are penguin and panda safe. Hence we analyzed and collected a list of popular web directories considering a wide range of parameters such as domain age, page rank, IP network and more. We performed 100% manual submission process to avoid submission errors and to comply 100% with the search engine and directory guidelines.  Submissions are done using unique, SEO friendly, descriptive titles & descriptions that are keyword optimized.

Submitting in low quality or irrelevant directories might hurt your site’s ranking considerably. Moreover, you need to perform manual submission and create meaningful titles & descriptions to get maximum results.

AUTOMATED ON PAGE SEO REPORT ANALYSIS

I am compelled to put together the case study on automated On-Page SEO reports in spite of my busy schedule as the SEO companies utilizing automated reports not only provide the facts wrong to their clients but also kill the business gradually. Some SEO companies, Indian SEO companies mostly overlook the Google Webmaster Tool for online optimization and go for quick fix solutions. Some of these companies even go further by providing free ONPAGE SEO analysis to prospective clients.  Yesterday I got a mail from client saying that he had received a free onsite analysis from a reputed SEO company in India which had pointed out dozens of issues on his website for which we had done the on-page optimization earlier.
